Sandy Carlaccini was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Child Care/Child Development at the University of Pittsburgh. She and her husband Gregg moved to North Carolina, where they raised their 3 daughters and pursued their dreams of teaching.
Sandy taught in the classroom for 17 years, in grades 3-5. Ready to take her career to another level, she earned a Master of Supervision and Administration at East Carolina University. Soon after, Sandy became Director of Federal Programs, where she worked with elementary schools on grant funding. She retired from her career in education after 30 years.
With retirement comes change. Sandy and her family relocated to Florida, where she became involved with Friends of Shannon Staub Public Library, Inc. She enjoys her volunteer time in the bookstore and currently serves as co-president of the board.
