About the Library

Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Research

There are ten Sarasota Libraries that are funded by the Sarasota County General Fund revenues. The library budgets do not include money for programs and services.

Each of these libraries has a Friends group that provides support for programs and services for their library. The Friends groups raise funds through fundraisers, donations, bookstores, and memberships. These funds are a critical resource for the Libraries so that they can offer programs and services that are vital to each of the ten communities.

The Sarasota County Libraries provide all the information you may need to know about your local library.
